SJI Horse Show and “Horseware Ireland” Amateur Class

Kernan Equestrian Centre ran their annual 1.25m SJI Horse Show including the “Horseware Ireland” sponsored Amateur class. Activities kicked off with the 90cm class which was won by Fintan Sullivan on Tullyallen Ben. Karen Pearson on Quantum Classic took the 1^st prize in the 1m class. A special mention must go to Patricia Foley who took three ribbons in the first two classes.

Next was the Amateur Class kindly sponsored by “Horseware Ireland” . After an eventful first round with only two riders jumping clear Karen Greer emerged victorious on her own Double Bay with Margaret Fullerton in 2^nd place on Big Man Traider. Margaret was in the ribbons again in the 1.10m on  James Kernan’s Vinday , one of the thirteen combinations to go through to the jumpoff. Her time of 35.28secs guaranteed her the red rosette with Kathryn O’Hagan and Unique Boutique taking 2^nd place and Eoin Maher on Judy Murphy’s Javas Scarlet place third. The main event of the day 1.25m class was won by regulars at Kernan Equestrian Centre Conor McEneaney and Moolite Cavalier.  Following a very exciting jump off Conor ‘s fast time of 32.64secs could  not be bettered despite hot competition form Ana Desmond on Rollover and Michael Beattie on Downtown Lady. Ana’s time of 35.23secs gave her 2^nd place ahead of Michael Beattie who finished up on 36.41 secs. Michael was also place 4^th on MB Mullentine Magic .

 

The SJI Horse & Pony League started on Saturday 16^th August. Due to a large turnout of horses the start time for the Ponies has been put back to 2pm. The horses start time remains the same at 10am. This league continues every Saturday to the FINAL on Saturday 13^th September.
