A ‘Snippet of Candy’ for Training at Connell Hill
Connell Hill opened their ‘gates’ to competitors arriving at the weekly Friday night Training Show. This show is designed to do exactly that ‘TRAIN’. Competitors are welcomed to attend to brush up on riding skills, technique, school horses and indeed introduce the novice to the world of show jumping. This is the ideal venue for any of the aforementioned with the added advantage of such a top class surface offering stability, sure-footedness with the confidence to build upon. Hannah Woolsey opened the show jumping clear in the x-poles and 50 cm classes and double clear in the 60 cm class on ‘Sweet As Candy’. Tucking double clears under their saddles in the 70 cm class were Charlotte Smiley on ‘Tuck’, David Taylor on ‘Lily’ and Aimee Jenkins on ‘Gusty’. The well earned result from ‘training’ paid off when competitors took the challenge of the 80 cm class with Andy Scott on ‘Toffee’, Aimee Jenkins on ‘Gusty’, Charlotte Wylie on ‘Holly’, Lindsey Cameron on ‘Jess’, Dawn Reeve on ‘Jack’ and David Taylor on ‘Sophie’ when all jumped double clear rounds. Making their debut show as a very new combination and certainly one which will go forward was Natasha Henderson on ‘Snippet’ with double clears in the 80 and 90 cm class, well done Natasha. Charlene Ellison on ‘Lexi’ jumped a faultless double clear as they confidently navigated their way over the 90 cm course with Fiona Cooper on ‘My Bagatelle’.

Summer SJI Horse League continues on Thursday 24th July at 10.00 am, classes 80 cm – 1.30 m. Show Dates: Thursday 24th and Final on Thursday 31st July. Competitors to jump at four league dates to qualify for the final.
Summer Grand Prix Pony Show, Sunday 27th July at 9.30 am, this show will be held in the outdoor arena with all the usual classes.
Training Shows will continue on Friday night, as jumping is outdoor this show will commence at 6.30 pm sharp, 50 cm – 1.0 m classes, where everyone will receive a warm welcome with café facilities for hot and cold drinks/snacks.
