He Haw Henry Wins Strule Valley Open

STRULE VALLEY RIDING CLUB, Omagh, Co Tyrone held the 2^nd night of their Annual Summer Showjumping league in much nicer conditions which brought with it a better turnout.  Thanks to competitors for supporting & well done!

Thanks to Raymond Caldwell for course building, Chris Bogle judging, Yvonne Chisholm entries, Kyle Hayes & Samantha McCurdy safety officers, Alison Donnell call up, Alison Parkes & Pearl Donnell. 

Emma & Trevor King provided refreshments & also a delicious BBQ & money from this each week will go to Grovehill Animal Trust.

Seskinore Harriers Pony Club member Matthew Hempton & his fantastic little grey pony Minnie the Minx has jumped faultless rounds both weeks in both the 60cm & 70cm classes.  Michaela McFarland from Kay’s Equestrian in Fermanagh & the talented young pony Bluebell is also in fine form with clear rounds both weeks in the 70cm class.

CAFRE Student Natasha Gilchrist & her lovely bay Botera Lad has jumped very nice double clears both weeks in the 80cm class.  Clogher Valley Riding Club member Sandra Somerville & her young horse Smartie were the only partnership to jump double clear in the 90cm class.  The metre open class proved to be a popular one for competitors & spectators with 9 entries.  5 jumped clear in the first round & taking the red rosette was Ruth McCrory’s Hee Haw Henry & Diane Atcheson.  In 2^nd place was the beautifully schooled & turned out coloured Tia Maria & Alax Robinson.  SVRC Chairperson Lucinda Blakiston-Houston & her talented bay mare Gazelle took 3^rd place.

Competitors are reminded to be eligible for perpetual cups & prizes on the final night 23^rd July; they must jump 2 out of the 3 weeks. However everyone is very welcome to compete on the final night. Also show wear should be worn on the final night.  Perpetual Cups should be returned either on Week 3, 16^th July or on the final night.
