Connell Hill Proves to be the Training Show Venue!
The sun came out for Connell Hill’s most recent Training Show where competitors enjoyed jumping colourful courses in the outdoor arena. This spacious arena gives confidence to not only the rider but also the horse, be it a novice or one more advanced, as the excellent surface provides sure footedness hence the ability to go forward. These courses are to enhance the riders ability to judge strides and also introduce the horse to the showing environment. Daniel O’Loughlin on ‘Katie’ took the first rosette of the night for a clear round in the x-poles class, with Alex McMaster taking the second red ribbon in the 50 cm class on ‘Miles’. Making their debut show in the 60 cm class was Alice Wilson on ‘Alfie’ with a superb double clear and Aoife Dunlop on ‘Gemma’. David Taylor carefully navigated novice ‘Sophie’ over a double clear in the 70 cm class. The 80 cm class saw flowing double clears for Kevin Mackey on ‘ Apache Dove’ and Dawn Reeve on ‘Jack’. With the sun setting the 90 cm class kicked off and what better way to end this most rewarding night but with a double clear for Kevin Mackey on ‘Indian Sky’.

Summer SJI Horse League continues on Thursday 3rd July at 10.00 am, classes 80 cm – 1.30 m. Show Dates: Thursday 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and Final on Thursday 31st July. Competitors to jump at four league dates to qualify for the final.
Training Shows will continue on Friday night, as jumping is outdoor this show will commence at 6.30 pm sharp, X-Poles – 1.0 m classes, where everyone will receive a warm welcome with café facilities for hot and cold drinks/snacks.
