Week ending 25th May 2014, results Ravensdale Lodge Equestrian & Event Centre.
With the busiest weekend of the show season at Ravensdale Lodge out of the way, there is no time to rest at the north Louth venue. Results from the Longines National Grand Prix weekend show are listed below and full show report will follow next week. Ravensdale Lodge are set to hold the second of their popular “Bumper Bank Holiday Shows” on Sunday 1st May and this is followed closely by the start of two eagerly anticipated new leagues coupled with the continuation of normal spring / summer leagues means a hectic time for show organisers. These hugely popular bumper shows at Ravensdale Lodge are the equivalent of a Grand Prix for amateur or leisure riders and every bit as much preparation and attention to detail goes into organising them as is done for the professional riders. With a haul of prizes courtesy of Ravensdale Lodge, Moorhill Saddlery, Botanica International, Horse First & Mackins Horse Feeds for all listed classes from X poles to 1.10m there will be something to tempt everyone out on the day. There is an 11am start time for this show which will be held on the centres all weather outdoor fibre sand arena, everyone is welcome and a great days jumping is guaranteed.
Two days later on Tuesday 3rd June sees the start of the outdoor dressage league which will be run on the same outdoor all weather fibre sand arena with a start time of 6pm. Show organisers are taking advantage of the one day in the week where there are no jumps in this super arena to slot in this dressage league. Weekly classes can be found on the Ravensdale Lodge website and all entries should be in by 9am on Friday prior to show. Sunday 8th June sees the start of the eagerly awaited Moorhill Saddlery cross-jump series which will be run under the format of arena jumping followed by a cross country session. This event has a scheduled start time of 12pm for the bigger 1m class and is followed by the 85cm class (not before 1pm) and the 70cm class (not before 2pm). There is a lovely weekly class prize of a bespoke Ravensdale Lodge saddle pad courtesy of Moorhill Saddlery who are also kindly putting up all prizes in the final. Sandwiched between these two new leagues are the regular leagues which have been running for the past month at Ravensdale Lodge. SJI registered jumping for horses recommences after the weeks break on Wednesday 28th May with all classes modified from 80cm to 1.30m and a start time of 11am. This show jumping track remains open for schooling on Thursday and Friday and slots can be booked through the office.
