Kernan Equestrian Centre Enjoy Popular Bank Holiday Show
Kernan Equestrian Centre Mini Grand Prix Horse Show Bank Holiday Monday 5th May 2014
The jumping action continued at Kernan Equestrian Centre on Bank Holiday Monday 5th May when they ran one of their popular Mini Grand Prix Horse Shows.
The first event of the day the 90cm class got off to a good start with six combinations with double clear rounds dividing the prizes.
The 1m class saw first and third prizes go to Paticia Foley on Supreme of Ballyglass and Captain Blanco. Second prize went to Karen Greer well known in amateur circles on her own DoubleBay.
The competition started to hot up in the 1.10m class with Jessica Finnegan‘s time of 41.34 s ecs on Tommie Girl giving her the red rosette. Hannah Joyce on Seamus Duffy’s Van Clover finished in second place in 51.90secs and Jessica was in the ribbons again with Sunday Cruise.
The host James Kernan was pleased with his win in the 1.20m class on the grey Aurora’s Diamond in a time of 41.91 secs. Second place went to upcoming young rider Emmet McCourt on his mother Patricia’s Latika (43.14secs) and third to local girl Siobhan Hanratty on her own Wonella (53.77secs).
The eagerly awaited main event, the Kernan Equestrian Centre sponsored 1.30m Mini Grand Prix gave Emmet McCourt his second win of the day when Moneytrain executed a lovely double clear in 47.90secs to take the coveted 1st prize. 2nd place went ot Zoe Woods on Kilronan Chin who produced the only other double clear of the competition in a time of 50.79 secs. Although Markus Buser and Jedai Des Salines accelerated the pace their four faults in a good time of 43.59secs left them in 3rd position. A delighted Emmet McCourt was in the money again on James Kernan’s Vida Dancer H to take 4th place..
Course designer Alistair Megahey’s strong but challenging courses produced good results. Kernan Equestrian Centre wish to extend their thanks to all those who supported them on the day.
