‘Templebready Lyric’ in Top Form at Connell Hill’s Training Show

The sunshine on Friday night encouraged competitors to load up and travel to Connell Hill for the training Show.  The course, designed in the outdoor arena, encouraged horse and rider to go forward as they embark upon their campaign of summer jumping.  Kick starting the show collecting red rosettes for smooth collective clear rounds, in the x-poles class was Chloe Stewart, at her debut show on her soul mate, ‘Hassy’ with Kimberley Cotton on her super horse ‘Dante’.  The 50 cm class saw very stylish clear rounds by Sam Jackson on ‘Jack’ and Rachel McLean on ‘Templebready Lyric’, a new combination.  This new combination is one to watch for the future as Rachel demonstrated skill and control on ‘Templebready Lyric’, going on to jump double clear in the 60 cm class with Gary Close on ‘Rubys’ Dream’ and Anna Jackson on ‘Jack’.  The 70 cm class saw Stephanie Scullion jump a super double clear on ‘Jewels’ with Dean Cotton taking control of the 80 cm class over this first class surface jumping double clear on ‘Gem’.  This show saw some storming rounds of jumping and none more so than the 90 cm class with double clear rounds from Fiona McRoberts on ‘Tess’, Eamon O’Connor on ‘Norman’, Nicola McKee on ‘Snatch’ and Mary Hegarty on ‘Iky’.  As this most enjoyable night was drawing to a close Eamon O’Connor jumped double clear on ‘Norman’ in the 1.0 m class.

 

Training Shows will continue on Friday night, as jumping is outdoor this show will commence at 6.30 pm sharp, X-Poles – 1.10 m classes, where everyone will receive a warm welcome with café facilities for hot and cold drinks/snacks.

 

5 Week SJI Horse League commencing Saturday 3^rd May, 10^th, 17^th, 24^th and final on 31^st May at 10.00 am, classes 80 cm – 1.30 m.
