All Eyes on Andi’s ‘Dolly’ at Connell Hill

| March 18, 2014

connellhillWith spring very much in the air this past week equine enthusiasts turned out to jump at Connell Hills Training Show on Friday night in high spirits.  All received a warm welcome and were greeted with a much inviting free flowing course of colourful fences designed to encourage and thus improve the performance of horse and rider.  These training shows take the combination forward in preparation for the showing season.  Kimberley Cotton on ‘Dante’ jumped a super clear to commence the show in the X-Poles class.  Chloe Connon on ‘Annie’, Jamie-Leigh Wilkin on ‘Little Misss Debetante’ and Andi Scott on, her super wee horse, ‘Dolly’ received red rosettes in the 50 cm class.  All eyes were then on Andi Scott riding ‘Dolly’ as they trotted into the arena to take the challenge of the 60 cm class which Andi navigated confidently claiming a double clear.  The arena crew set the fences for the 70 cm class which saw Naomi McCavana on ‘Crindle Miss Shaunaghesay’, Lindsey Cameron on ‘Raz’ and Ellen Bates on ‘Elle’ all jump double clear.  The result of hard work and patient training was apparent when Lindsey Cameron on ‘Raz’, a very new combination, jumped their first 80 cm class with a super double clear followed by Cherie McHugh on ‘Morgan’ and Morgan Skillen on ‘Mayo’.  Morgan then went on to jump double clear on ‘Mayo’ with Laura Glendinning on ‘Gypsy’in the 90 cm class.  Jumping a successful double clear to end the evening in the 1.0 class was Rachael Fullerton on ‘Zeffie’.
