Happy Days First at Laurel View

The penultimate competition in the Laurel View Winter Dressage League was definitely a good one for Santiago Guieirrez, when he took both 1^st and 2^nd in the walk/trot class on MJI Happy Days and Alfie respectively. The task of judging this class had been put in the able hands of Martina McKinley.

 

Newcomers rode the Prelim 4 to the best of their ability for judge Geraldine Lowry.  Pattons Cruise sailed into first place with Lorraine McClintock at the helm, while Oscar and Zoe Briggs took the second position.

 

The strong Prelim 14 class was judged by Ivor Harper, when the scores were all totted up Tilly and Gillian Orr came out on top, while Leah Knight and Gibbs took home the blue rosette.

 

David Patterson was tasked with judging all the outdoor classes, first on his list was Class 4 with competitors stepping their way through Prelim 17. Linda McIlwaine and Beechmount Baxter put their best foot forward to win the class, leaving Leah Knight with another second, this time on Milo.

 

Next up was Novice 22 and it was Derryfane Danny and Helen Faulkner that took first.  The second position ended up with a tie between Ruth Wilson on Maisy and Sharon Watters on X Rated.

 

In the Open class X Rated and Sharon Watters scored a red rosette for their Novice test, over Oliver Hardy and Martina McKinley also riding the Novice test.

The final of the Laurel View Winter Dressage League on 30^th March is approaching rapidly. As always entries need to make their way to Laurel View virtually or verbally by noon on the Thursday before the competition.
