New Sponsor Secured for Eventing Ireland CNCJ* Series

| February 28, 2014

wilkie_flanaghanEventing Ireland is delighted to welcome on board a new sponsor for the 2014 season.  Wilkie and Flanagan Solicitors will be sponsoring a new series for the CNCJ1* class which will focus on awarding points for those who jump clear in the show jumping and cross country phases. Therefore, the winner of the class may not necessarily win the leg if they have incurred penalties in the jumping phases.  This is an exciting concept for horse/rider combinations whose dressage is not their best phase as it will reward clear jumping in both phases but in particular the show jumping phase!

The league will be run over 6 events, with a minimum of 3 events to qualify.  All scores will count.   Venues will be announced shortly.

Points Allocation

1.     First Place in Class ridden =  20 points

Deductions will be made as follows from this score if applicable:

a.     For every 4 SJ faults deduct 4 points

b.    For every 20 XC faults deduct 2 points

2.     Remaining Placings:

a.     Clear Round SJ  no matter where placed in class = 14 points

b.    Clear Round XC no matter where placed in class = 4 points

A total of 18 points can be awarded for clear SJ and XC

Time penalties in either the SJ phase or the XC phase do not count and clear round means clear of jumping penalties.

Prizes

The Overall League Winner will receive €300.00 cash, along with front and hind Dalmar XC Boots and a pair of Horseware Ice Vibe Boots – a total prize value of €650.

Alan Wilkie of Wilkie and Flanagan Solicitors said “We hope this will provide an additional incentive for combinations to jump clear and focus on the show jumping phase which is becoming more and more influential.“

Georgia Stubington, Chairman of Eventing Ireland commented “I am delighted to welcome this new format for an eventing league and a great new sponsor in Wilkie and Flanagan Solicitors. I’m sure competitors will enjoy this development which put the emphasis on the quality of the performance not just winning.”

Full details will be published on the Eventing Ireland website shortly.
