Amy Continues Winning Streak at Connell Hill
The third date of the SJI Horse League saw sun shine, which was much appreciated by riders and horses as they warmed up outdoors, what a relief. The picturesque indoor arena was an array of coloured fences adorned with trees and shrubs, which was a strategic course inviting horses to take the challenge and display their amazing agility and athleticism. This in turn led riders to display their talent/skill, riding forward with precision and control.
The first double clear of the day was claimed by Kevin Mackey, up early travelling from Dungiven, on ‘Neat Moonshadow’ in the 90 cm class. The course designer, Mr W Crean, set the course for the 1.0 m class which saw Lisa Corry on ‘Meribel Rock’ Noel McKee on ‘Keeford Sundance’ and Ellen McCollun on ‘Co Co Chanel’ displaying their horsemanship with double clears. Amy Roberts on ‘Cache D’Or’ continues her winning streak jumping the only double clear in the 1.10 m class, Amy was congratulated on her achievement winning ‘The Pony Club Mini Major’ competition at Olympia during December on ‘Billy Two Rivers’, well done Amy. Zoe Woods stole the remaining classes jumping double clear in the 1.20 m class on ‘Without Permission’ and ‘Kilronan Chin’ and then first placing in the 1.30 m class on ‘Kilronan Chin’.
Training Shows will continue next Friday night at 6.30 pm, X-Poles – 1.10 m classes, where everyone will receive a warm welcome with café facilities for hot and cold drinks/snacks.
*Horse Training Show* Thursdays 20th and 27th February at 10.00 am, classes 80 cm – 1.20 m. This show is the perfect opportunity for schooling, training or that little bit of extra fitness before jumping registered on Saturdays.
SJI Horse League continues on Saturday 22nd February at 10.00 am, classes 80 cm – 1.30 m. League dates are 22nd February, 1st, 8th, 22nd and 29th March, Sunday 13th, Saturday 19th and final on 26th April. Competitors must jump at five league dates to qualify for final.
IPS Working Hunter Show on Sunday 23rd February.
