Boone Proves Training Pays at Connell Hill

It was once again another relaxed fun night at Connell Hills’ Training Show which saw riders and horses gaining confidence as they endeavour to go forward in this most elite sport.  Riders of all ages and ability attend with horses of all different jumping abilities, Cobs, Connemaras, Thoroughbreds, X Race Horses, all attend performing in their own right.  So if you think I would like to try that but my horse would not, come along, give it a go, you never know this could be just the show for you.  First into the arena to start the show with the 50 cm class, and who has a most promising career ahead, was Erin Dunseath on ‘Sam’ jumping clear.  Sammy Cameron on ‘Beauty’, a young horse, jumped a super double clear in the 60 cm class with Chris Adger on ‘Palkia’ and Naomi McCavana on ‘Molly’ who then went on to claim another red in the 70 cm class.  The arena crew set the fences for the 80 cm class and competitors warmed up eager to take the challenge which saw Chloe Connon on ‘Moves Like Jagger’ successfully negotiate the course and jump double clear with Cherie McHugh taking her novice horse ‘Bella’, over the course to earn a red rosette.  Training pays off with the reward of top performance from your horses as Beth Boone proves jumping double clears on both her horses ‘Polly’ in the 70 cm class and ‘Angel’ in the 80 and 90 cm classes.

 

Training Shows will continue next Friday night at 6.30 pm, X-Poles – 1.10 m classes, where everyone will receive a warm welcome with café facilities for hot and cold drinks/snacks.

 

*Horse Training Show* Thursdays 30^th January, 6^th, 13^th, 20^th and 27^th February at 10.00 am, classes 80 cm – 1.30 m.  This show is ideal for schooling, training or that little bit of extra fitness before jumping registered on Saturdays.

 

SJI Horse League commences on Saturday 1^st February at 10.00 am, classes 80 cm – 1.30 m.  League dates are 1^st, 8^th, 15^th and 20^th February, 1^st, 8^th, 22^nd and 29^th March, Sunday 13^th, Saturday 19^th and final on 26^th April.

 

N.I.W.H.A Working Hunter Show on Sunday 16^th February at 9.00 am.

HORSE TRAINING SHOWS AND SJI HORSE LEAGUE AT CONNELL HILL

 

Training Show for Horses on Thursday at 10.00 am, classes 80 cm – 1.30 m.  Dates are Thursday 30^th January, 6^th, 13^th, 20^th and 27^th February.  This show is ideal for schooling, training or that little bit of extra fitness in preparation for the Registered Show on Saturday.

 

SJI Horse League Saturdays at 10.00 am, commencing on 1st February and will run 8^th, 15^th and 22^ndFebruary, 1^st, 8^th,22^nd, and 29^th March, Sunday 13^th, Saturday19^th and final on 26^th April.  [PLEASE NOTE Grand Prix Horse show on Saturday 15^th March, no show on 5^th April, and 12^th April show will run on Sunday 13^th April).
