Progressive Training At Connell Hill
To reach your goal means training, but when it comes to horses, patience with partnership is the all important factor. Competitors arrived at Connell Hill on Friday night to take this invaluable opportunity to create harmony with their horse so to go on to achieve their goal as they jumped a track designed to alleviate stress and build on the partnership. The night jumped into gear with the X-Poles class with Alison Stewart on ‘Rickamore Jodie’ and Max McDonnell on ‘Mountain Game Cock’ go clear, then moving unto the 50 cm class a young aspiring star Gracie Bright jumped clear on ‘Sandy Fluff’ and ‘Robbie’. The 60 cm class saw Charlotte Smiley jump double clear on ‘Tuck’, with setting the standard in the 70 cm class achieving double clear was Melissa McClenaghan on ‘Dante’. Claiming this partnership and patience pays off were Jade Harper on ‘Dollar’ and Seaneen McCoy on ‘Hazel Star’ as they were amongst the double clears in the 90 class. This most successful night of jumping, enjoyed by both competitors and spectators, ended with the 1.0 m class which saw two young athletes pursuing success, Ellie-Rose Cassidy on ‘Chesty’ and Ella Grant on ‘Beautiful Mystery’, both new combinations, yet again claim double clear rounds.
Training Shows will continue next Friday night at 6.30 pm, X-Poles – 1.10 m classes, where everyone will receive a warm welcome with café facilities for hot and cold drinks/snacks.
