Competitors Chase Unregistered Show at Connell Hill
Connell Hill held the first date of their two Unregistered Horse Shows on Saturday 11th January with the second date scheduled for Saturday 18th January 2014 at 10.30 am, classes 80 cm – 1.20 m. This show saw competitors chase the opportunity of jumping a superbly educational track, designed by Mr W Crean, to introduce or bring on their young horses with more technical tracks for the more advanced as heights stepped up, before the competitive season begins. This show saw riders have the added opportunity to warm up in the new spacious outdoor arena before jumping their chosen course of fences in this first class indoor arena. This is the ideal show for riders contemplating registered showing and those with less experienced horses boosting confidence as they embrace the world of show jumping. This show is open to all unregistered horses and riders in full show attire.
The day kicked off with the 80 cm class which saw Katy Connor on ‘Quinten’, Tory Dixon on ‘Louie’ and Jo McGrath on ‘ California Clover’ all jump double clear rounds with red rosettes awarded to Fiona Fitzgiven on ‘Alfie’ and Donna Barron on ‘Duchess’ in the 90 cm class. Following a successful double clear in the 1.0 m class Ruari Logue on ‘Harry’ went on to jump another double clear in the 1.10 m class. What an end to the day when it came to the last class of the day, the 1.20 m class, with a full house of double clears for Olivia McCormack on’Penny’, Suzanne Posnett, with multiple rides, Max, Gin and Coco and not forgetting Ronan McLaughlin, who had a most successful day as he jumped double clears in all his classes with ‘Enrico’, and ‘Vinny’, (80 cm), ‘’Vinny’ (90 cm), ‘Con’, and ‘Argos’ (1.10 m) and ‘Argos’ (1.20 m) classes, well done.
Unregistered Show Saturday 18th January at 10.30 am 80 cm – 1.20 m.
Training Shows will continue on Friday night at 6.30 pm, X-Poles – 1.10 m classes, where everyone will receive a warm welcome with café facilities for hot and cold drinks/snacks.
