A ‘Sunny’ Training Show at Connell Hill
The frosty night did not put competitors off as they jumped at the opportunity of competing at these first class indoor facilities on Friday night.
This Training Show is perfect for schooling or to bring on the young in-experienced horse, here help, guidance and advice is on hand to assist the rider also. It is always exciting to watch the young riders as they enter the arena with their ponies taking them over the course with such pride and can see their skills improve weekly and none so much more than the X Poles to start the night off with red rosettes for clear rounds to Cameron Weatherup on ‘Sugartime’ and Max McDonnell on ‘Cocky’,
There may have been frost outdoors but the sun shone indoors as Elle McDonnell on ‘Sunny’ and Grace Moore on ‘Millie’ jumped their clear rounds in the 50 cm class. The course being that bit tougher for the 60 cm class did not faze Grace Moore on ‘Millie’ as they went on to jump double clear with Naomi McCavanna on ‘Molly’ also jumping double clear. As not only fences went up for the 70 cm class the competition also grew with Naomi McCavanna on ‘Molly’ and Pat McGarry on ‘Cynciti’ skilfully jumping double clears. Claiming double clears in the 80 cm class were Richard Hutchinson on ‘Laurelhill OMG’ and Shane O’Grady on ‘Merlin’ who went on to jump a double clear in the 90 cm class,

Training Show for Horses and Ponies continue on Friday nights, at 6.30 pm, 50 cm – 1.10 m classes.

Christmas Fancy Dress show with novelty classes, on Saturday 14th December at 10.00 am with mulled wine and mince pies.
Mid Antrim Pony Club Show on Saturday 28th December at 10.00 am.
Connell Hills’ Christmas Derby Show on Sunday 29th December at 10.00 am.
