Seaneens’ ‘Star’ at Connell Hill
With Halloween just around the corner and fireworks displays on this did not deter the equine enthusiasts attending Connell Hills’ Training Show on Friday night. These shows are aimed to encourage everyone as competing is the ultimate goal at any level of this sport.
Competitors take pride in their style and appearance with riders and horses groomed to jump at these first class indoor arena facilities. Kerry McMurry on ‘Luna’, her new horse, jumped a first class clear in the 50 cm class. Jumping double clears in the 60 cm and 70 cm classes were Oliver Doherty on ‘Trendy’ and Tammy McCammond on ‘Charlie’ with Lucy Hanna on ‘Rock Black and Blue’ jumping a scopy double clear in the 80 cm class. Riding with style and precision earning a double clear in the 90 cm class was Georgia Kelly on ‘Bobby’.
As it came to the last class of the night with the fences going up for the 1.0 m class it was a red rosette for a double clear from a familiar family name in the horse circle and that was Seaneen McCoy on ‘Hazel Star’. Well done to everyone and hope to see you all back again next week where a warm welcome awaits.
Training Show for Horses and Ponies continue on Friday nights, at 6.30 pm, 50 cm – 1.10 m classes.
Autumn SJI Pony League 24th November, 1st December and Final 21st December at 10.00 am all usual classes.
Autumn SJI Horse League continues on 2nd, 9th, 16th 23rd and Final on 30th November at 10.00 am, 80 cm – 1.30 m classes.
£1,000 Indoor Derby League Final on Sunday 3rd November at 10.00 am, classes 60 cm – 1.0 m. £50 – £500 + rugs to the winners of each class with prizes in kind up to 6th placings. Competitors must have competed at 1 league date to be eligible for prizes in final.
3 & 4 Year Old Pony Loose Jumping on Tuesdays 5th, 12th and 19th November at 7.00 pm
Please keep an eye out for a host of more shows including Half Bred Loose Jumping and Working Hunter Shows at Connell Hill where our aim is to suit and accommodate everyone.
