Week ending 13th October 2013, results Ravensdale Lodge Equestrian & Event Centre.

Paddy Hughes had his other cap on as he competed in Saturday’s Horse First indoor arena eventing league at Ravensdale Lodge. Founder and owner of Horse First, Paddy is also a keen producer of quality young horses of all disciplines and he has been in attendance over the past few weeks to compete in the arena eventing league which he sponsors at Ravensdale Lodge. Like many producers of young horses Paddy finds the arenas & courses at Ravensdale Lodge ideal to school and show a young or inexperienced horse different types of fences in a professional & safe environment. Hughes has had two young horses down over the three weeks of the league moving up the ranks from the 70cm class to the 1m class and results of this week’s competitions can be seen below. Competitions continue this week at Ravensdale Lodge with the Tonino Lamborghini sponsored SJI registered indoor horse league on Thursday from 11am. There are two unregistered classes, a 70cm & 80cm, which must be jumped before the six registered classes from 80cm (M) to 1.30m (M). Sean Cooney & Botanica International are long term sponsors at Ravensdale Lodge and their indoor horse & pony training league have been attracting bumper attendances for the past three weeks. This league continues on Friday evening from 5.30pm with classes from X poles to 1.10m. Indoor arena eventing comes around again on Saturday and the first class commences at 3pm with 70cm, this is followed by an 85cm class (not before 4pm) and a 1m class (not before 5pm). The O’ Reillys Wholesalers Newry indoor dressage league has been gaining great momentum over the weeks and a further €60 has been added to the charity pot this weekend. There are four classes in this league and each class winner will get a minimum of €150 to donate towards their nominated charity. This prize fund is being boosted by a donation of €1 / entry towards the pot from Ravensdale Lodge so literally every entry counts towards charity. All weekly tests are on the Ravensdale Lodge website and weekly entries should be registered to the office by lunchtime Thursday. This league has a start time of 2pm and start lists will be posted on the Ravensdale Lodge website in advance of competition. Ravensdale Lodge host a Bumper Halloween Show on Sunday 27th October from 11am with the usual classes from X poles to 1.10m. All are welcome and as always this show will have great prizes which have been sponsored once again by Mackins Horse Feeds, Horse First, Botanica International, O’ Reillys Wholesalers Newry & The Cemac Group. This will be the penultimate bumper show of the year with the last being scheduled for Sunday 27th December.
