‘Top Notch’ Crosskennan Show Fundraiser
Free Spirit Equestrian held a fun show to raise awareness and funds for Crosskennan Lane Sancturary Co Antrim, by kind permission of Lorraine Hutchinson. It was a relaxed start to the day with leadrein ponies setting the style, as the day progressed, classes got busier with the arrival of cobs, horses and exracers.
The judges on the day where Jenny Harvey (ponies) and Georgia Adams (horses) with photographer Sara McComb snapping away to record the competitors on camera.
The opening competition was won by the host and her daughter 2yr old Jocelyn riding Rosedale Miss Moffatt,, a budding star for the future, the morning competitions went on with veteran, rescue, coloured and Family pony classes with the pony championship being won by Elaine Garvey with Reo Dancer and in reserve Rebecca Hutchinson-Rolston with Rosedale Miss Moffatt
The horse classes commenced with light to middle weight hunter class, won by the unraced thoroughbred, Solitude ridden by Tiffany Williams. The classes continued with exracehorse classes, veteran, rescues, thoroughbreds unraced, and Riding horse. The final two classes were won by ‘Top Notch’ ridden by June Ellenberg, who went on the take the Horse Championship with Michelle Kane on Gimlis Axe in reserve.
Top Notch is a gelding by Even Top who was found in a terrible state, and brought slowly back to condition, schooled by his owner was definitely on a roll as he and June went on to take Supreme Champion of the show. A positive reminder how some TLB hard work can achieve remarkable results.
