Cross-jump series made a welcome return to Ravensdale Lodge on Sunday as
competitors enjoyed the thrills (without the spills) in the shadow of the

Week ending 18th August, results Ravensdale Lodge Equestrian & Event Centre.
After an absence of two years cross-jump was to the fore at Ravensdale Lodge this weekend and it’s return had an immediate impact as there was a great turnout for week one of the series. With bright sunshine & perfect conditions underfoot the stage was set for some great competition and it did not disappoint as everyone enjoyed their day in the shadow of the Cooley Mountains. There was great value for your buck on offer as well as combinations got to jump 15 show jumping efforts followed by 13 jumping efforts on the cross-country course for the 1m class and 12 jumping efforts for the 85cm & 70cm classes. Show jumping took place in the superb all-weather fibre-sand arena at Ravensdale Lodge while the cross-country phase was staged on the track the near side of the river. Cross-country featured banks, walls, pole & logs, sunken road as well as many of the purpose made portables at the centre with lots of thrills (without any spills thankfully). Congratulations to Denise Kelly of Moorhill Saddlery & Louise Doyle who were clear over both phases in the 1m class, Rachel Conn, Sam Goudy & Clare Murtagh who managed the double in the 85cm class and finally Conall Mc Grath & Petrina Reilly who managed to go clear over show jumps and cross-country in the 70cm class. The cross-jump series continues at Ravensdale Lodge next Sunday 25th August to Sunday 22nd September with the exception of Sunday 15th September due to MSL Mercedes-Benz Autumn Grand Prix SJI registered horse show. Classes start at 12pm with the 1m competition which is followed by the 85cm class (not before 1pm) & the 70cm class (not before 2pm).
