Twenty four people enjoyed all the entertainment on offer at the RDS in Dublin last week courtesy of the two ticket shows held at Ravensdale Lodge on 21st July and August 4th. The power of social media was used to full effect to attract attention for the second show on 4th August which was run with very little notice due to the availability of RDS tickets. A great entry of over eighty combinations flocked to Ravensdale, a nice compliment to the eighty plus who attended the first show on 21st July to try and win a valuable pair of tickets to the annual Dublin Horse Show in Ballsbridge. Competition was fierce in all classes and no quarter was asked or given as competitors young and old tried, some successfully, others not so, to cut every corner imaginable to get round the jump off track in the fastest time. Speed is one thing, however as we are all aware, the poles have to stay in their cups as well and this combination of speed and accuracy is what makes jumping against the clock so exciting for competitor and spectator alike. It was another glorious day at Ravensdale Lodge as the sun shone down on everyone throughout the afternoon. It has been a summer to remember for many reasons, lovely weather and great competition which always culminates in the annual pilgrimage of horse people from all corners of Ireland to the RDS . Ravensdale Lodge has done its fair share as always in participating in this great annual event, the centre hosting five qualifiers for Dublin as well as giving so many people the opportunity to attend courtesy of their now annual RDS ticket shows.
