Nieve Takes Red Rosette Back to Herts from Connell Hill

This most athletic sport is being taken up by more and more riders, some of whom have come back to it after career and family commitments. Therefore the training shows are ideal as they are aimed at all levels and ability of both the rider and the horse. The friendly relaxed nights jumping started with Naomi Cavana on ‘Molly’ and Maeve Carlin on ‘Sparky’ taking red rosettes in the 50 cm class and Jodie Creighton on ‘Rickamore Ganty Mac’ jumping a super double clear in the 60 cm class. It became busier as the evening wore on and the competition grew with spectators cheering and applauding encouragement. Visiting on holiday from Herts and taking a red rosette back home from Connell Hill was Nieve Baker on ‘Clyde’ who jumped a double clear in the 70 cm class as did Jodie Creighton on ‘Rickamore Ganty Mac’ and Natasha Henderson on ‘Elf Queen’. The 80 cm class had huge competition with double clears from two super young athletes Beth Boone on ‘Polly’ and Aaron Reid on ‘Nugget’.

Training Show for Horses and Ponies continue on Friday nights, at 6.30 pm, 50 cm – 1.10 m classes where everyone is welcome to come along and socialise with a hot snack, tea/coffee/soft drink from the cafe. Working Hunter Show for Ponies and Horses on Monday 26th August. Ponies start at 9.30 am, classes – Cradle Stakes, Starter Stakes, Small M & M up to 138 cm, 133 cm Working Hunter Pony, Large M & M over 138 cm, 143 cm Working Hunter Pony, 153 cm Working Hunter Horse, Horses start at approximately 2.00 pm, 4 year olds, Novice Horse, Small Working Hunter Horse and Open Working Hunter Horse. This is an ideal family day out before school term starts.
