Double Victory for Clare Abbott in Irish Sport Horse Eventing Series
CLARE Abbott took both the 5 year-old and 6 year-old classes of the new Irish Sport Horse Eventing series at Killossery Lodge in Co. Dublin today (Sunday), while Michael O’Toole won the 4 year-old class.
Abbott rode Cormac McKay’s Oakley, by Beach Ball (ISH) and bred by Messrs Teague and Mulgree in the 6 year-old section, while in the 5 year-old competition, she piloted John F Melvin’s Glenkeeran River, by Crosstown Dancer (RID) (APP), bred by Maria Melvin.
O’Toole took first place in the 4 year-old competition with his own Night and Light, by Cavalier Two For Joy (ISH), bred by Margaret Murphy.
Today’s three competitions were the second legs of the new series for 4 year-old, 5 year-old and 6 year-old Irish Sport Horses, with over €20,000 in prize money.
There are eight legs in the 5 year-old and 6 year-old series and four legs in the 4 year-old series.
