Penultimate Week of Strule Valley League
STRULE VALLEY RIDING CLUB held the penultimate night of their annual summer showjumping league & were once again blessed with a rain free night!
The Club would like to thank the competitors for coming along to compete, Raymond & Pamela Caldwell for building a friendly course, Chris Bogle for judging, Natasha Gilchrist entries, AJS Catering, Pearl Donnell, Alison Donnell call up & Adrian Flood, Alan Gilchrist & Malvern Moore for assisting in the arena & to anyone else who helped in any way.
Points are adding up & the club look forward to an exciting final next week. The winner of the 60cm class with receive the Strule Valley Riding Club Perpetual Cup, winner of the 70cm class the AJS Promotions Perpetual Cup, 80cm class winner will receive the L W Surphlis & Son Perpetual Trophy, 90cm winner the Good Gracious Perpetual Cup & the metre class winner will receive the Omagh Equestrian & Countrywear Perpetual Cup. The highest placed Strule Valley RC member will be awarded the Fordie Cathers Perpetual Cup.
Killyliss Cleo & Henry Flood are leading the 60cm class with double clears every week & aunt Pamela Caldwell & Freehall Beauty have a clean sheet in the 70cm class; staying out in front; however nephew Henry is following closely behind! Kallie & Noel Regan have jumped double clears every week in the 80cm class with Pamela Caldwell not too far behind on the scoreboard. Noel also leads the 90cm class with his lovely young horse Kallie. Donegal visitor Clodagh Barry & her pony Mervyn are top of the leaderboard in the metre class.
Well done to everyone for taking part. Competitors are reminded that full show wear should be worn next week for the final.
The penultimate night of the league proved very successful for a few competitors & their horses – Freehall Beauty & Pamela Caldwell took home red rosettes in both the 70cm & 80cm classes, as did Nadia & Amy Hetherington. Kallie & Noel Regan also had a very good night jumping faultless rounds in both the 80cm & 90cm classes.
Special mention must be made to the very nicely turned out Michaela McFarland who had a busy night competing with Tiby in the 70cm class, Milly in the 80cm class double clear & Dolly & Cliff in the 90cm class both double clear.
Gareth Douglas promising young horse Missy jumped clear for both himself & also young rider Shea O’Neill in the metre class, taking 1st place for Gareth & 3rd for Shea.
