Get up close and personal with the stars

If there’s one event to put in your diary this year it’s the new and exciting 2013 Dressage Convention, in

association with Horse&Rider Magazine and Classic Dressage.

Dressage superstars Carl Hester and Richard Davison are offering dressage enthusiasts a unique insight into a variety of training methods through a series of practical sessions, lecture demos, panel discussions and questions and answers.

This two-day event, which will take place on October 19th and 20th at Bury Farm in Buckinghamshire, promises to be both educational and thought-provoking and will bring together a number of well-respected trainers and riders, with the aim of exploring and comparing International training methods.

Guest trainers will include:

  • Renowned author of ‘The Classical Seat’, Sylvia Loch, who will explain The Classical system.
  • Olympic, European and World Championship competitor Miguel Ralao Duarte, a student at the Portuguese Equestrian Art School, who will demonstrate his system and highlight the differences between training Iberian horses and modern-day Warmbloods.
  • Carl Hester and Richard Davison, along with Double Olympic gold medalist Charlotte Dujardin, who will demonstrate their methods for training the horse for international success.

“This is a great opportunity for like-minded people to discuss different approaches to training the dressage horse,” says Carl, while Richard adds: “The event will be a totally different format to what people are used to in the UK and we hope it will in

spire riders of all levels and bring clarity to their training systems.”

Apart from the practical demonstrations, attendees will have the chance to ask the trainers questions and get involved i

n the many discussion sessions.

Those wishing to stay overnight will have another chance to get up close to these riders at Saturday night’s Classic Dressage Supper with the Stars. An informal hog roast, where Richard and Carl will interview the guest speakers on stage during the evening and discuss news and the hot topics affecting the world of dressage.
