Will Makes Sure It's Best Foot Forward At Connell Hill

| January 22, 2013

Stormy weather conditions on Thursday night did not dampen the spirits of the novice horses when they attended the first of these training shows. Thanks must go to Will Creen who built a great course to give these young horses confidence as they begin their career in show jumping as the SJI Horse League commences on Saturday 2nd February. It must be remembered that it is quite a daunting experience for a novice horse to enter an arena for the first time, there is so much they have to encounter such as other horses, music, pa system for example, so therefore these training shows are essential in their schooling to be sure they put their best hoof forward.

For their first outing saw Noel McKee on Keeford Sundance jump in the 70 cm class, first outings in the 80 cm class saw Michael Burton on Gold and Katie Connor on Sally also taking advantage of this training show. A new combination to watch out for in future are Richard Hutchinson on Laurel Hill OMG as they jumped clear in the 90 cm as did Sammy Workman on Pendork Pride and Michael Burton on Gold. Taking the red rosette in the 1.0 m class was Martin McCloskey on Legaland Tadmus.

So what better way to prepare your horse for the Horse SJI Spring League which commences on Saturday 2nd February at 10.00 am and Pony SJI Spring League which commences on Sunday 3rd March at 10.00 am than to attend these Thursday and Friday night training shows which continue next week where everyone is welcome.

Unfortunately due to the bad weather conditions Friday night Pony Training show had to be cancelled.
