<p>It is with much excitement that we can introduce two new sponsors for our forthcoming dressage season.  ‘Harmony Hair Studio’ of Bangor and ‘Coast of Donaghadee’ are two local businesses each offering the modern females of today a feeling of sophistication and glamour for their hair and wardrobes.  Proprietors of Harmony Hair Studio Jessica Stuart, Helen Duncan and Esther Ward had their official launch in August 2015 and pride themselves in being the only salon in Northern Ireland to stock ‘Natulique’ – the only complete certified organic professional hair beauty line in the world.  Together the girls have over 25 years experience in the industry and no detail has been overlooked in the creation of this beautiful studio located on Grays Hill in Bangor.  Boasting a fabulous relaxation suite, delicious complimentary drinks menu and professional friendly staff, this salon is well worth a visit.  Log onto facebook.com/harmonyhairNI to read the 5* ratings received by Harmonys clients.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>‘Coast of Donaghadee’ is a Ladies Fashion Boutique set in the bustling seaside town of Donaghadee, County Down.  Established 14 years ago, the business moved to larger premises almost 4 years ago and was taken over by local businesswoman Barbara Stuart.  Located in the centre of this hiving historical town the shop boasts an extensive range of ladies wear including brands such as Robell, Tia, Adini and Brandtex.  Barbara has an eye for detail and prides herself in offering outfits suitable for everyday wear to mother-of-the bride outfits including hats and accessories.  The staff at Coast are always at hand to help and each customer receives one-to-one assistance to select that special item of clothing or entire outfit depending on the occasion.  This stylish boutique is well worth a visit and Gransha Equestrian Centre are excited to get underway with this new sponsorhip deal which promises to offer competitors great rosettes and prizes throughout the winter months.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;" align="center">Last weekend saw the final round of the Horseworld NI working hunter league hosted in the Antwerp Arena at Gransha Equestrian Centre.  The league winner of each class was presented with a beautiful ‘Antwerp Arena’ rug courtesy of Gransha EC and a stunning brown and cream sash and rosette which are the company colours of Horseworld NI.   This local business which is owned and run by Vicky Cunningham has been established for 3 years now and stocks a wide range of equestrian brands.  The beauty of this business is that Vicky can travel around the competition venues with her mobile tack shop so riders will never be stuck for those essential items they may have left at home on the day of a show.</p>

<p>The horse classes took place on Saturday14th and our judges were Erin and Laurel Faloona.  Valery Clegg and Highly Sprung fought off stiff competition to win the league in class 1 (70cm performance).  In a very close 2nd were ‘Polly’ and Judith Bankhead.  Third place went to Lynzi McCartney and Logans Leap.  The winning combination on the day was ‘Tory’ ridden by Emma Jackson.  2nd went to Judith Bankhead on ‘Polly’ and 3rd was Colin Halliday on ‘Aero’.  After a quick swap, Emma Jackson returned on ‘George’ and ‘Thor’ to take 1st and 2nd in the four year old class.  Rachel Moore came 3rd with ‘Playboy,’  Moving up the leaderboard to take the top spot in the novice 70cm class was the consistent partnership of Lynzi McCartney and ‘Logans Leap.’  This pair won on the day and won the league.  Slotting into 2nd was Laura Wilson and ‘Sunday’ followed by Vicky Teuton with ‘Good to Go’.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>It was a win for Caitlin McKechnie and Sharon McGimpsey’s ‘Knockamara Gypsy’ in the coloured WH class.  Gail McIlwaine and ‘Ballyroly’ took 2nd while Kate Campbell and ‘Glen’ slotted into 3rd.  Grand Prix Dressage rider Lucy Adams showed us all how it should be done by winning the open 80cm WH class with her very talented schoolmaster ‘Ben Hymn’.  Emma Jackson had a 2nd with Hugh while Vicky Teuton notched up another 3rd with ‘Good to Go.’  It was a successful day for local businessman Ian Jones of Ian’s School of Motoring as he took home the sash and rug for being league winners of this section with his beautiful brown mare, ‘Ebony.’  Suzanne Cobain and ‘Elsa’ also stood out from the crowd as they won the league prize in the novice smalls class.  Homebred ‘Coonawara’ and Kirsty Jackson took 1st place in the open smalls class with Rachel Moore and ‘Old Yard Imp’ slotting into 2nd.</p>
<p>Michelle McConnel and ‘Sunday Morning’ continued their good form to win the league prize in the open 90cm class.  Rachel Moore took the top spot in the open 1m class with ‘Fortview Toy Boy’ while Emily Morris and ‘Florida Bud’ took 2nd.  Emily then went on to win the 1m 10cm WH class.</p>

<p>Day two of our working hunter finals took place on Sunday 15th with the pony classes.  Alison Kirpatrick put the children through their paces and once again prizes were very generously sponsored by Gransha EC and Horseworld NI.  Lucy Donnan and her gorgeous pony ‘Donny Darko’ were the first pair to be presented with their first place in the cross pole class.  It was the turn of older sister Holly Donnan in the First ridden class as she took 1st place with ‘Lady Zara’.  2nd went to Zara Wood and ‘Ballymac Girl’.  Lucy Donan took 3rd this time with ‘Lady Zara.’</p>
<div id="attachment_748443" class="wp-caption alignright" style="width: 310px"><a href="http://79.170.44.152/equestriannewsni.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Kate-Campbell-and-Glen-competing-in-the-80cm-Coloureds.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-748443" alt="Kate Campbell and Glen competing in the 80cm Coloureds" src="http://79.170.44.152/equestriannewsni.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Kate-Campbell-and-Glen-competing-in-the-80cm-Coloureds-300x200.jpg" width="300" height="200" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">Kate Campbell and Glen competing in the 80cm Coloureds</p></div>
<p>Ballymac Girl has been the pony to beat this season in these classes with young Zara Wood coming back week after week and showing great determination and dedication.  All of that hard work paid off as the pair went home with not one but two sashs’ after winning the league in the first ridden and the cradle stakes classes.  On the day it was Hannhah Bayfield and ‘Ruby’ who impressed the judge to win the cradle stakes.  Standing out from the crowd in the open starter stakes was Abby Cummisky and her pony ‘Maxamilo’.  They won on the day and took home the league prize.  Lauren Belton McGlennon and ‘Ganaway Breeze’  had a successful day picking up a 4th in the open cradle stakes and a 2nd in the open starter stakes.  ‘Brunely Winston’ ridden by Lucy Kayes picked up a 3rd in the open starter stakes on the day and went on to win a lovely GEC saddle cloth for taking 2nd place in the league.</p>
<div id="attachment_748444" class="wp-caption alignleft" style="width: 310px"><a href="http://79.170.44.152/equestriannewsni.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Laura-Wilson-and-Sunday-competing-in-80cm-Open.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-748444" alt="Laura Wilson and Sunday competing in 80cm Open" src="http://79.170.44.152/equestriannewsni.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Laura-Wilson-and-Sunday-competing-in-80cm-Open-300x200.jpg" width="300" height="200" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">Laura Wilson and Sunday competing in 80cm Open</p></div>
<p>Ellen Douglas partnered ‘Jamie’ to victory in the 70cm performance class, meaning Ashleigh Saunderson had to settle for 2nd.  Caitlin McCechnie slotted into 3rd with ‘Fat Boy’ while Lauren Belton McGlennon and ‘Ganaway Breeze’ took 4th.  Putting all her points together over the series of months Ashleigh Saunderson came out on top with her brilliantly versatile pony ‘Stuart Little’ to win the league prize in the 70cm performance.  Hannah Bayfield and Ruby also picked up a 1st in the small M&amp;M class.  Abby Cummisky notched up another win, this time in the novice 133cm class with Maximilo while Ashleigh and ‘Stuart Little’ slotted into 2nd.  Finishing off her day in great style Ashleigh claimed 1st place in the M&amp;M over 122 but not exceeding 138cm.  Rachel Moore and Lorrudgh Cedro took 2nd and Cery Howell and Captain Morgan came 3rd.  League placings for this class wen to Cerys in 1st and Ashleigh in 2nd.</p>

<div id="attachment_748446" class="wp-caption alignleft" style="width: 310px"><a href="http://79.170.44.152/equestriannewsni.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/80cm-Open-League-Winners-Ian-Jones-and-Ebony.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-748446" alt="80cm Open League Winners Ian Jones and Ebony" src="http://79.170.44.152/equestriannewsni.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/80cm-Open-League-Winners-Ian-Jones-and-Ebony-300x200.jpg" width="300" height="200" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">80cm Open League Winners Ian Jones and Ebony</p></div>
