<p>This League is for Horse and Pony Athletes</p>
<p>Jump in a minimum of 4 League Shows which are taking part in the Challenge to be eligible for the Final in Cavan Equestrian Centre on<br />
December 6th/7th 2014<br />
(You are not confined to jumping at one venue for your 4 rounds)<br />
Horses must not have competed at 1.30m or above prior to the Final and Athletes must not have competed above 1.30m prior to the Final.<br />
Schedules in the SJI Bulletin list venues taking part.<br />
Horse Classes: 90cm; 1.00m, 1.10m 1.20m<br />
Pony Classes: 128 80cm/90cm; 138 90cm/1.00m; 148 1.00m/1.10m<br />
Prize Fund at Final:<br />
Horses 90cm/1.00m €1,500 per class<br />
Horses 1.10m/1.20m €2,000 per class<br />
Ponies: Overall prize fund €4,500<br />
€5 from each entry goes directly to ‘Make-A-Wish’</p>

The next leg of the exciting new introductory 50cm Pony League is at Ballymena Show this Saturday 31st May. Athletes should be in their 6th year and under 12 years on 1st January 2014. The top 24 combinations from each region will be invited to a glittering final at National Balmoral Championships on 15th &amp; 16th July.

<p>The winner is by Power Blade (TB) out of Diamond Explosion (ISH), by King of Diamonds (ID) and was bred and owned by Dermot Forde, County Cavan.</p>
<p>Second was Brookwood Supersonic (ISH) ridden by Sean Kavanagh, owned and bred by Pat Duffy, with third going to Always On My Mind (ISH) ridden byJames Hogg, and owned and bred by Edgar Hogg.</p>
<p>Five horses shared the 6yo old series with eleven sharing the 5yo.</p>
<p>These classes are not decided by a jump off to avoid young horses being pushed against the clock. The prizes are shared between the horses that jump a second clear within a prescribed time.</p>
<p>The series, which is run over two days, saw some 72 horses line for yesterdays, 5yo competition, 45 for the 6yo competition and 27 for the 7yo.</p>
<p>The next leg of the series takes place in Cavan from 16-18 May. Total prize money for the series is €80,000.</p>
