<p>Polocrosse was one of their most successful disciplines and so this year, with generous Sponsorship from Pegus Horse Feeds, The North Down Pony Club Branch took on the task of hosting the Easter Polocrosse Training Camp at Gransha Equestrian Centre, where the rider’s Polocrosse skills would be assessed for qualification to play in the Pony Club Championships. They got just the weather they had ordered.  It could have been the middle of summer.  The riders and spectators needed sunblock, instead of coats and umbrellas.</p>
<p>Two Pony Club Polocrosse Coaches, Tom Simkin and Chris Milburn, travelled from England to train the 17 riders, and were very impressed with the standard.  They worked on ball skills and tactical match play and the riders who were aged from 8 to 17 went away with lots of new practice exercises, full of enthusiasm for the season ahead.</p>
<p>The Coaches assessed the Pony Club members over the three days and nine players qualified to go to The Championships in Cheshire in August, six of those will also be representing Northern Ireland in Pony Club Home International in Wales in July, while the three youngest riders achieved their Intro To Polocrosse Badge.</p>
<p>With thanks to Pegus Horse Feed, Coaches Tom and Chris and the Fleming Family who made them so welcome during their stay and Adrienne Stuart at Gransha Equestrian Centre for use of her terrific facilities, Northern Ireland Pony Club Polocrosse is looking forward to more great success in the coming year.</p>

<div></div>
<div>The <b>Pegus L.S.T [1.35M] </b>will take place at 14 venues across the province, kicking off at Louth County Show on Sunday April 26th with the final round taking place at the Irish Breeders Classic in September.</div>
<div></div>
<div>The 2014 Leinster Summer Tour saw Co Tyrone’s Peter Smyth and the gelding Admiran Cassio crowned champions, overtaking Kilkenny’s Eddie Moloney and Pashmina K at the final round. The 2015 Pegus L.S.T [1.35M] is expected to attract many of Ireland’s top riders along with new and exciting emerging talent, with a total prize fund in excess of €20,000. Each leg of the Pegus LST will be worth €1,000 with a further €5,000 on offer for the top three riders at the end of the series. Pegus Horse Feed will also provide additional prizes from its vast range of products that includes animal supplements.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Speaking at the launch of the Pegus L.S.T [1.35M], which took place at Killashee House Hotel in Naas, Co Kildare, Declan Cullen (Sales &#8211; Marketing and Feed Consultation with Pegus Horse Feed) said,</div>
<div></div>
<div> “When Taylor Vard approached us with the idea of been involved with the Leinster Summer Tour, Pegus Horse Feed just could not let it pass us by. Showjumping and the success of our international riders at all age, is down to riders cutting their teeth in classes like these, so it is great to be associated with such a great league. Let’s hope we have a summer just like the last.&#8221;</div>
<div></div>
<div>Also speaking at the launch of the Pegus LST, Leinster Summer Tour Chairman Taylor Vard commented,</div>
<div></div>
<div>“The Leinster region has put a lot of time and money into the tour over the last few years and to watch it grow into what it has become and to have Pegus Horse Feeds recognize this and wanting to come on board, is a mark of where the Pegus LST is going.”</div>
<div></div>
<div><b>Karlswood Stables Young Rider Bursary</b></div>
<div></div>
<div>The top Young Rider in the Pegus LST will receive a bursary of a full week’s training with Olympic Bronze Medallist Cian O Connor, with accommodation for both horse and rider provided at his Karlswood Stables base in Co Meath.</div>
<div></div>
<div>The Leinster Summer Tour will also feature a 1 meter tour, a 1.10m/1.20m tour and competitions for Amateur riders at each of the 14 league venues, with excellent prizes across all categories.</div>
