<div>Written by Brian Hennessy</div>
<div></div>
<div>Trailing league leaders Eddie Moloney with Pashmina K by two points heading into the final leg, Smyth overtook Kilkenny based Moloney thanks to a double clear round in 24.18 seconds with the son of Cassin I, which saw him take third place at Barnadown where the final round carried points and a half.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Admiran Cassio is owned by Peter Mulrine from Co Donegal and speaking afterwards, new LST champion Peter Smyth, who collected a very generous €4,000 for his LST title win said,</div>
<div></div>
<div>“It is brilliant to win this series especially with the pressure on in the final leg because I was trailing Eddie Moloney. The Leinster Summer Tour suits a large group of horses and riders, we have the National Grand Prix and Premier Series here in Ireland, but this is an excellent tour for young riders, or for horses without a lot of experience. Admirian Cassio is a 12 year old but he really has only the experience of a seven year old and I will now move him on to jump in the Autumn Grand Prix league”.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Victory in the Shires Equestrian Products sponsored final round of the LST at Barnadown went to Co Waterford’s Francis Connors with Karen Mc Anerney’s eight year old Le One gelding Oilean Uno, following a double clear in 23.66 seconds, while Irish National Champion Greg Broderick finished as runner up with Rincoola Black Adder, Elizabeth Forte’s nine year-old gelding by VDL Douglas.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Kilkenny’s Marion Hughes finished with two horses in the top six, taking fourth place with HHS Dublin and sixth spot with HHS Nektarina, while Phillip Carey grabbed fifth spot with Ton Soleil F.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Eddie Moloney and Pashmina K finished the series at LST runners up, collecting €1,500, while Gerard Clarke and Kings Best took home €500 for finishing third</div>
<div></div>
<div>Co Derry’s Daniel Coyle was named the leading young rider of the LST and will receive a week’s training plus accommodation for horse and rider with Olympic bronze medallist Cian O’Connor at his Karlswood base in Co Meath..</div>
<div></div>
<div>Meanwhile Sara Pothman Cullen from Co Carlow was the winner of the 1 meter section of the LST with her own mare Arkana.</div>
<div></div>
<div>The 1.10m section of the tour was divided between 11 riders Sara Gorman(Take a Gamble), Mark Murphy(Horseware Foxy), Mary Flynn(Goodle), Tim Mc Donagh(Michlem Master), Marie Lanigan(Countess Rock), Anne Lambert(Kinninick Bouncer) Patrick Murphy(You Two Babe), Amanda Hyland (Pakino), Jack Hutchinson(Next Flight), Nicola Ross Watt(Cainby) and Paddy O Donnel with Grovine King Cobra.</div>
<div></div>
<div>The 1.20m LST was won by Ciara Morris from Wexford while Mark Murphy from Dundalk Co Louth was the winner of the Young Riders bursary in this section.</div>
<div></div>
<div>The organizers of the Leinster Summer Tour would like to thank all of the competitors and sponsors who helped to make the 2014 LST such a success and would especially like to thank everyone who contributed to their very successful Greyhound night at Shelbourne Park during Dublin Horse Show week.</div>
<div></div>

<div></div>
<div>Northern Ireland’s Peter Smyth scored his second LST win of the season at South County Dublin Show, which was held at Coilog Equestrian Centre in Co Kildare. The Tyrone native claimed a hard fought win with Sigrid Jackel&#8217;s ten year old Aldato gelding Almiro, adding to the winner’s rosette Smyth secured in the second leg of the series at Ravensdale with Admiran Cassio.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Derry born Daniel Coyle had an incredible weekend at South County, along with winning both the National Grand Prix and Premiere Series, Coyle finished as runner up in the LST, which was sponsored by Margaret &amp; Davy Jordan(Chairman of SCDH), with Linzi Johnson&#8217;s super mare Uptown Girl.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Dublin based Gary Quinn took third place with the John Scally owned nine year old gelding Renolli, just ahead of John Floody who grabbed fourth place with the eight year old Ard VDL Douglas mare Toscana.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Peter Smyth added to his winnings by taking fifth place with Admiran Cassio and in the process this combination moved to the top of the LST league table on 25 points.</div>

<div></div>
<div>The Ger O Brien owned venue at Raheen Na Gun, has developed into a top class facility, with the footing the main and practice arena’s, some of the best in Ireland.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Kilkenny riders featured strongly in the final line-up at Raheen, however it was Co Waterford’s Paddy O Donnell who took the winners prize with Declan McGivern’s Hey There Delilah.</div>

<div></div>
<div>Written by Brian Hennessy</div>
<div></div>
<div>Thirty-two year old Power, who landed jump racing’s biggest prize in 2007 with Silver Birch, produced the only double clear round of a tough competition that saw just four of the 30 starters go through to the jump-off.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Robert comes from a family steeped in equestrian experience, his father Captain Con Power was a member of the Irish team that dominated the Aga Khan Trophy competition in the late 70’s, while Robert&#8217;s sister Elizabeth Power is one of Ireland’s most successful Eventing riders.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Robert Power&#8217;s win at Ballivor came aboard the 13 year=old High Roler gelding Doonaveeragh O One, a horse that Robert Power rode to a third place finish in the Eventer’s Grand Prix at Hickstead in 2012.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Meath’s John Floody grabbed runner up spot in the Ballivor LST, finishing with one fence down in the jump-off with the Joanne Attley owned eight year old mare Toscana (Ard Vdl Douglas x Presenting). Floody’s time of 44.28 seconds saw him finish almost four seconds faster than Declan McEvoy who picked up eight faults in round 2 with the seven year old Lotus S.E (Lordano x GrossAdmiral).</div>
<div></div>
<div>The only other rider to manage to make it into the jump-off was Philip McGuane with Barry O Connor’s seven year old Corland gelding Crocodile Dundee, two fences down against the clock, in a slightly slower time than Declan McEvoy, saw the Dublin based rider finish in fourth spot.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Gerard Clarke who won the opening round of the LST at Barnadown, collected more valuable league points with a fifth place finish aboard Kings Best after the fastest four fault score from round one, while John Floody and Bronson de Reve secured sixth place.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Sponsored by the forthcoming Leinster Region Fundraiser, “A Nights Greyhound Racing at Shelbourne Park” which will take place on Thursday August 7th, the 2014 Leinster Summer Tour boasts a very generous prize fund, including the “Karlswood Stables Bursary” where the leading Young Rider in the L.S.T will receive a week’s training including accommodation for both horse and rider, with Olympic Bronze medallist Cian O’Connor at his Karlswood base in Co Meath.</div>
<div></div>
<div>The next round of the LST will take place at Mullingar Equestrian Centre on June 29th</div>
