Declan Cullen (Pegus Horse Feeds) gave a very entertaining and informative talk to members and Gransha liveries. Starting with a short slide show of the differences in the products which are in the various feeds and what ones to look out for if your horse is overweight or excitable (cool mixes may not be as cool as we think). He also explained how the digestive system works and why we should be trying to keep as close to
nature as possible with feeding plenty of fibre, and ofcourse a good exercise regime.

Then we moved into the indoor school and with the help of 4 legged volunteers he showed us how to condition score and use a weigh tape. Lots of questions were asked about individual diets, feed balancers and supplements etc, and at the end of the evening the audience were much more educated in the art of feeding and hopefully our horses will be happier!

Thanks to Audrey and Michael Smyth who judged and scribed the 1st round of the Dressage league on Wednesday past and to organiser Jacky Reid and her band of helpers.
The club enjoyed a course of three lessons, with each lesson progressing to use grids, learning to ride correct lines and most who attended jumping bigger than they ever had. The final night was a great success as all jumped a course of fences successfully, encouraged on by the support of other riders and spectators on the night.
