Following on from the successful introduction of the fuel voucher draw for the Horseware Ireland horse & pony training league, the Mackins Horse Feeds indoor arena eventing league and the Cemac Group indoor dressage league some weeks ago the Crowne Plaza Dundalk sponsored SJI registered indoor horse league which runs at Ravensdale Lodge on Thursdays has been added to the list. John Floody from Slane Co. Meath benefited from the inclusion of this league as his name was drawn out of the hat on Thursday and he was delighted with the prize. The odds of John being picked were narrowed greatly and he had a one in five chance of being picked as he rode 15 of the seventy plus entries. This SJI registered league has gotten off to a flying start with large entries arriving for the first three weeks of competition and it runs weekly to Thursday 25th April with a start time of 11am. This fuel incentive is being warmly welcomed be all riders, professional and amateur alike as the cost of diesel prohibits many from travelling any distance to shows. The winter / spring schedule of shows is now half way through at Ravensdale Lodge and continues this week with SJI registered jumping on Thursday with a start time for horses at 11am and ponies scheduled for 5pm. Friday evening’s horse & pony training league shows start at 5pm with X poles and classes run up to 1.10m while the indoor arena eventing league continues on Saturday from 3pm with the four usual classes. There will be no dressage league shows for the next two weeks due to St Patrick’s day and the Connolly’s Red Mills Pony Spring Tour final on March 24th, dressage will resume on Sunday 31st March.
