James Russell jumped two double clears in the 80 and 90cm classes on Rocky and Jack

As the rain came down, competitors streamed in on Saturday morning with the first class starting just after 10am.  Thanks must go to Lorraine Leavesley for judging and keeping the competition moving along to get through the high competitor numbers on the day. Equestrian Results were in attendance as they have been each week to add any new competitors to the system.  They sponsored the saddlecloth prize draw once again and Michael Irwin was the lucky winner this week.

The first clear of the day was Sheila Kennedy and Foxy, with the young Maria Martin and and Bluestone Cloud sailing clear as well.  Francis Gribben and Twinks led the way to another clear as Ivan Gribben enjoyed Midnight Sky’s debut outing also jumping clear.  Maria produced another double clear in the 80cm class and could be a combination to watch for the future.

Joanne Wilkinson and Casper were fresh from their Christmas break, and after winning the last league, they returned in their usual style to produce two double clears in the 70 and 80 classes.  Laura Struthers and Ginger enjoyed a double clear at 70cm and then teamed up with Emma Lee Turley to join the arena party for the afternoon allowing the competition to run even more smoothly!  Rachel Toughey and Molly also jumped a very stylish double clear in this class, while John McKinney used his experience to jump his young horse Mac double clear as well.  Michael Irwin and Oscar jumped double clear for the second consecutive week at 70cm and his move to 80cm this week was rewarded with another double clear.  James Russell was determined not to touch a pole as he flew round on both mounts, Rocky and Jack to jump clear in the 80 and 90cm classes.

The wait was worthwhile for Kirsten Farr on Jasper and Ronan Ptacek on Jolie who jumped easy clears in the 1.10m classes and had the poles raised for the 1.20m class.

What is Equestrian Results.co.uk?

It’s an online results database for equestrian competitions.  It receives results from equestrian centres, clubs and associations and displays those results by horse.

How to I add my horse’s details to the website?

You click the ‘sign up’ link on the home page and create a user account for you as a rider/owner.  You then log in, scroll to the bottom of the page and click ‘add horse’.  Insert your animals details and you can even enjoy 30 days free before paying the nominal fee of £10 per year.

How do I get my horses results included on the website?

Once you have added your horse, simply compete at a show listed in the ‘upcoming shows’ section on the website and your results will be added for you.

What about clubs and league dates?

The Inter-venue Tour beginning in February, and Show Jumper of the Year organised by the hard working team at Mossvale also plan to add their league dates to the website.

Winter riding club Inter-club dates are also being entered, the Portmore round on 19th January will be included in our results.

Do you store Dressage results?

Yes! We cover dressage, combined training, all jumping disciplines and even showing.  On your horse summary page, any scores you’ve achieved greater than 60% will be displayed for each level.

How are results displayed in showing?

Your placed outings are shown by class, so if you compete in small hunters, the number of times you have been placed from 1st to 6th will be shown, and if you click ‘full results’ on your horses summary page, you can see those results in further detail.  (Working hunter results are also included.)

What is an online summary page?

An online summary page is a place where your horses details are included on the left hand side of your page, while a summary of your achievements is displayed on the right organised by discipline.  These include the number of double clear rounds you’ve jumped at each height, over 60% dressage scores, and placed outings in showing.

Are training Shows included?

Yes, we encourage competitors to build an online profile of results for their horses and ponies in classes from cross pole classes upwards.  Our aim is to increase the number of competitors out each week and weekend at local equestrian centres, to include children and adults regardless of their level of ability.  Training shows, unregistered local shows, riding club events and those held by associations are also welcome.

Demand grew during the league as riders chose to include their details on this innovative new website allowing their results to be visible online, encouraging them to compete at more than their required attendance for the league final.

While the final of the league was a very busy show, organisers hope that this next league will be even more popular due to the prizes on offer!

Each week a lucky winner will be chosen to go home with a prize from the show at each qualifying date, so there are more prizes for a greater number of competitors throughout the league.

A rug for leading senior rider and leading junior rider will be awarded at the final, with prize money on offer on the final date as well.

£2 from every entry will go into the prize winning total to be divided amongst qualified riders as they compete for the biggest share in each class at the final in January.  (To qualify, riders must attend four dates and the qualifier.)
The league will begin this Saturday 9th November, continuing on 30th November, 7th December, 4th Jan, 11th Jan, 18th Jan, and final on 25th January.

Jackie Loughran and Zoe jump clear in the 70cm class

Portmore held the fourth round of their unregistered horse and pony league on Saturday 21st September.  Several junior riders are really setting the standards as they blaze ahead in the leagues overall placings!  Ella Heron and Princess Judy continue to strengthen their lead in the 60cm class, while it’s tight at the top in the 70cm with Tori Showkum and Tally Ho taking the lead, followed closely by Ella Heron and Princess Judy.  Francis Gribbon and Twinks stole the show on Saturday with three double clear rounds in the 60, 70 and 80cm classes.  Sheelagh Kennedy on her promising young horse Dora produced another immaculate clear round to move them into third place in the 70cm league overall.  Erin Burns made her debut on Cola, the faithful mount for her older sister Katie and completed a flawless roundin the 60cm class.  The unregistered league continues next week 28th September, starting at 10am with the 60cm class, going up to 1.20m.  The league is sponsored by Equestrian Results.co.uk who are providing online records for competitors.
