Abby Cummiskey on Maximilo

Saturday 25th October 2014 saw the first of our Working Hunter competitions of the season! The course was made up of a selection of new and inviting rustic fences on the fantastic mixed fibre surface to ensure great footing!! The day started with the 4 year old class where Grainne Moore on her lovely new Mare Made in Milan took the Red Rosette. The Amateur Novice Class had a strong field of competitors and Susie Kinley riding Tip Top took first place and also went on to secure first place in the Coloured Class followed by Siobhan Mulligan riding her mare Penny. Lynne Spence rode into poll position in the Smalls class on her bright bay Hayze. Victoria Teuton had a very successful day riding an excellent round to secure first place on Suzie McClean’s Scoobie in the Cob class and taking first place in the 1m Class on her Dark Bay Gelding Shannaghmore. The 80cm Festival Class was hotly contested and the victor was Sharon Getty on Gracie. Chloe Rooney riding Knights Cavalier took the red rosette in the 90cm Festival class. On Sunday 26th October 2014 it was the Ponies turn. The day kicked off with the Cross Pole Assisted Class. Poppy Smith on Barnes Isobel took first place and Holly Donnan riding Jigsaw took second place. Amy Meehan riding April took the red rosette in the Festival Cradle Stakes class. The Starter/Nursery Stakes class and The Festival 133 cm class saw two joint winners, namely Abby Cummiskey riding Maximilo and Lara Kelly riding Millford Spectacular in both classes. The Festival Mountain & Moorland Class was won by Emily McGowan on Rathbane Legend. The 90cm Performance Class was won by Nicola Jellie riding Colleens Misty Madam. Sacha Bloch riding Bertie was the victor in the Festival 143 cm class and the Novice 153 cm class. Nicola Jellie riding Coleens Misty Madam won the Festival 153cm class. Well done to our competitors and many thanks to our Judges Fiona Morrow and Janice Reddy.
